About ChainLedger Academy

We are an independent educational organisation dedicated to making blockchain technology accessible and understandable. Founded in London in 2021, we publish free, research-backed content with no commercial bias.

Company Story

How We Started

ChainLedger Academy was founded in 2021 by a small group of technology researchers and educators who shared a common frustration: most publicly available information about blockchain technology was either overly promotional, technically impenetrable, or both.

We set out to build something different. Our founding team, based at 71 Queen Victoria Street in the City of London, began by writing a series of plain-language guides that explained distributed ledger technology without assuming any prior knowledge and without encouraging readers to purchase or trade any digital asset.

Since those early days, ChainLedger Academy has grown into a comprehensive educational resource covering blockchain fundamentals, consensus mechanisms, token standards, smart contracts, NFTs, stablecoins, Web3 concepts and regulatory developments. Every article we publish goes through a rigorous editorial process before reaching our readers.

We remain privately funded through educational partnerships and grant programmes. We have never accepted payment in exchange for content coverage, and we do not promote, endorse or recommend any specific digital asset, token, project or service.

Blockchain technology and its regulatory landscape evolve rapidly. We review and update every article at least once per quarter. Each page shows its last-updated date so readers can assess the currency of the information.

Where a topic is subject to genuine debate within the academic or professional community, we present the principal viewpoints fairly. We do not favour one position over another, and we clearly distinguish between established facts and emerging opinions.

Process

Research Methodology

Our research process is designed to produce content that is accurate, up-to-date and free of commercial bias. Each article begins with a structured research phase during which the assigned author reviews primary sources, including protocol documentation, academic papers and regulatory publications.

We prioritise primary sources over secondary ones wherever possible. When citing data, we reference the original study or dataset rather than a news report about it. If a primary source is inaccessible, we note this explicitly.

After the initial draft is completed, it enters our peer-review process. A second team member with subject-matter expertise reviews the draft for factual accuracy, logical consistency and clarity. Disagreements between authors and reviewers are resolved by our Editor-in-Chief.

Published articles include a "Sources" section listing all referenced materials. Readers who identify errors or outdated information are encouraged to contact us at [email protected] so we can investigate and correct as needed.
